The PC (personal computer) is used primarily to mediate content for professional or individual uses. It is mainly used in four areas of professional activities :

  • business applications (B2B, B2C, C2C) ;
  • government applications ;
  • creating visual and audio artistic content ;
  • military applications (over 50%).

The PC has many years of use remaining, situated in the spectrum between the TV screen and mobile devices. In 2013, there were 2 billion PCs installed around the world. In 2015 more than 300,000 were sold. Many analysts have announced the decline of PCs, but it is likely that many users (dissatisfied with the limitations of current mobile devices), will purchase more powerful workstations in the coming years.
